    Bald Bouncer
Though it’s still less than three months away, Microsoft has been teasing its E3 2017 plans for some time now. We know that Project Scorpio will be a major part of the presentation but it seems the company wants to give more time for its games as well.

This is according to Xbox boss Phil Spencer on Twitter who noted that, “I want to give our games more time on stage at E3. I sometimes feel like we rush telling the story of our games at E3.”

  • Darksiders, Darksiders 2, and Assassin’s Creed Revelations Newest Backward Compatible
    Bald Bouncer
Microsoft has announced three new games being added to its list of Xbox 360 backward compatible games running on Xbox One. They’re three AAA Xbox 360 games, and while they’re not ever going to be topping any lists, they’re all reasonably cool games that more people should play and try out.

The games in question are Assassin’s Creed Revelations, Darksiders, and Darksiders 2. Now to be fair, we already knew about the former two- they had been announced as Games With Gold games...

  • Games With Gold April Ryse: Son of Rome, The Walking Dead, AC, and Darksiders
    Bald Bouncer
April will probably be the very best month that Microsoft’s Games With Gold service has had yet- the games for this month will include four rather good titles, across Xbox 360 and Xbox One both- which means that subscribers will be getting some real bang for their buck here.

Over on the Xbox One, the two headlining titles include Telltale’s The Walking Dead Season 2, and Crytek’s Ryse: Son of Rome. While the latter particularly was panned upon release, it is the kind of game...

  • Daytona USA Headlines New Batch Of Xbox One Backward Compatible Games
    Bald Bouncer
The newest batch of Xbox 360 backward compatible games on the Xbox One has been revealed - it’s a relatively lower profile bunch of games this time around, with the headlining game being Daytona USA. Of course, ardent fans of the classic arcade racer will tell you that Daytona USA is better than just about any other major AAA title Microsoft could have put up on the store- honestly, they’d probably be right, too.

The other two games that are included as part of this update are...

Having first fought for the Insurrection and then the Covenant, Kinsano is now waging war against the Banished on the Spirit of Fire. She’s an interesting personality, willing to burn down the entire Ark before...

If you don’t own a PlayStation, and can’t play Persona on April 4, you’ll still have something to occupy you- Capcom has announced that Dead Rising: Frank Rising, the newest DLC for last Winter’s Dead Rising 4 which sees Frank West himself become a zombie, will be available on that date. • Sea of Thieves Continues To Amuse In New Gameplay Video

Sea of Thieves, Rare’s co-operative action adventure game that is due to release this year on Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs, looks great- it looks charming and funny, and it looks like to will be a return to form for the British studio, which has fallen on some hard times recently. The more we see of it, in fact, the more we are convinced that it will go on to become a favorite of many Xbox One owners.

Take this new video, for example- showcasing a band of developers led by Producer...

  • Phil Spencer Wants Xbox Game Pass to Have First Shipped Games

Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass already looks like a strong deal for Xbox One owners, especially with access to more than 100 games at a given time for the monthly fee of $9.99. But Xbox boss Phil Spencer wants it to become something more.

On Major Nelson’s podcast, Spencer said that, “There is an opportunity here to not just be about games that have already shipped. I would actually like to see this grow into a program where you can see frontline games/first shipped games come...

  • Xbox Game Pass More Details Revealed: Discounts, Xbox Live, And More

Earlier today, Microsoft announced the Xbox Game Pass, an intriguing service where, for $10 a month, costumers get to download from a catalog of over 100 games. It sounds like a great idea- like a Netflix for games, without the uncertainties that are associated with PS Now (and extended to current generation games)- essentially, like a larger scale EA Access.

Now, some more details regarding the service have come to light- for starters, it sounds like subscribing to this service...

  • Xbox Scorpio Will Be Marketed With 4K As A Key Pillar, Says Analyst

With the Xbox Scorpio, Microsoft is apparently responding to the fact that the PS4 is the most powerful system this generation, routinely capable of achieving higher resolutions on mot games natively than the Xbox One can. And so, the Xbox Scorpio has been created- the most powerful console ever, and capable of achieving 4K resolutions natively, at least if Microsoft’s statements about the system so far are to be believed.

And according to Michael Goodman, an analyst at Strategy...

  • Crackdown 3 Is ‘All About The Boom’, Says Microsoft

Crackdown 3 has been (and still is, to be honest) a long time in the coming- and hopefully this year is the year that we finally get to play it (possibly as a showcase title for the sophisticated tech that the Scorpio will be packing). But the long wait for the game will be worth it, according to Xbox’s Shannon Loftis.

“If you remember how great the original Crackdowns were, with the big, open cities, and as you leveled up, your cars and weapons leveled up, imagine all of that...

  • Xbox March Games With Gold Includes Layers of Fear, Borderlands 2

Microsoft has revealed the free Games of Gold coming to Xbox Live Gold subscribers in March and once again, it’s quite the impressive selection. Xbox One users get the impressive first person horror title Layers of Fear from March 1st to 31st. From March 16th to April 15th, asymmetrical multiplayer shooter Evolve will be available. It doesn’t seem to be the free to play Evolve: Stage 2 that brings re-balanced mechanics, free content and other nifty additions. Unfortunately, Turtle Rock has moved...

  • ‘We Are Incredibly Committed To Xbox Play Anywhere,’ Says Xbox Head Phil Spencer

There are some who would argue that Microsoft’s strategy of putting all of their games on PC via Xbox Play Anywhere is counter productive, that it reduces incentives to actually invest in their hardware. Others will say that Microsoft is ahead of the curve here, that they are preparing for a hardware platform agnostic future. Still others think that this is just another pet project for Microsoft doomed to be abandoned soon, and fade into irrelevance- not unlike Kinect, or Games for Windows Live....

  • Halo Wars 2 Review – One of The Best Real Time Strategy Games of This Generation

Perspective. Balance. Precision. Those are the three words that come to mind when playing through developer 343 Industries and The Creative Assembly’s hotly anticipated sequel to 2009’s Halo Wars. This is a game so fine-tuned it’s a wonder why Microsoft hadn’t brought out a new entry in this real-time strategy series for almost eight long years.

For those new to this series, Halo Wars 2 is not your standard first-person Halo journey. You assume command of an entire battalion...

  • Hitman: Absolution Is Now Backwards Compatible On Xbox One

Another day, another game has been offered up for the Xbox One backwards compatible program. This time around, that game is Hitman: Absolution. The game was first released on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC back in 2012 and when it released it had quite a few issues. Once those launch problems were fixed, Absolution ended up being a pretty great game. Some might even say it’s one of, if not the best Hitman games on the previous generation.

    IO Interactive announced back in...
