Microsoft has announced its Xbox Games With Gold titles for May 2017. The line-up might not be as blockbuster-packed as previous months, there are some good offerings to be had. For Xbox One, there is Giana Sisters: Twisted Dreams – Director’s Cut, an indie platformer that’s surprisingly fun. It’s available from May 1st to 31st. Then there’s Lara Croft and The Temple of Osiris, an isometric action adventure title that supports co-op and features everyone’s favourite Tomb Raider. It’s...22-04-2017, 02:16 PM
Microsoft will be wrapping up its closed alpha for Xbox Game Pass, it’s subscription-based service that provides access to 100 Xbox One titles at any time. The alpha ends on April 28th as per a message in the Xbox Insider app.
However, the message also indicated the service was going to launch soon. “You feedback has been invaluable and will make the service better for all gamers… We’re getting close to launch and Xbox Game Pass will be available for all gamers later this...20-04-2017, 05:08 PM
Xbox has made massive strides in providing a supportive environment for independent game developers - while it blazed the trail in this area with the Xbox 360, it had begun to fall behind by the end of the generation, especially as rival Sony and even Nintendo caught up. With the introduction of the Xbox One, it seemed as though Microsoft was hell bent on burning bridges with a community it had once fostered.
That was then- things have improved massively since then, and Xbox...19-04-2017, 12:45 AM
It’s the middle of April and that means more free games for Xbox One users subscribed to Xbox Live Gold. Thank to Games With Gold and backwards compatibility with Xbox 360 games, you get two big games to play (not including Ryse: Son of Rome which is available till April end).
For Xbox One, there’s The Walking Dead: Season Two which continues Clementine’s tumultuous journey in the post-apocalyptic, zombie-ridden world. Though not quite as highly rated as the first season,...17-04-2017, 04:49 PM
The Xbox Scorpio was finally revealed to some degree yesterday – we know what the specs and performance gains for the new system will be, but we don’t yet know the final name, release date, or even what the console looks like – which means Microsoft now no longer has to speak in tantalizing vague hints, and can instead speak to users directly about the fruits of their labor.
Speaking to fans directly on Twitter yesterday, Microsoft’s Head of Product Development Albert Penello...08-04-2017, 02:30 PM
Undead Labs’ open world zombie sandbox title State of Decay 2 will be huge. In a recent blog post, the developer announced that the game would have three maps at launch and each would be “roughly the size of the original.”
The maps themselves will also be quite varied. “You should expect to see slightly different environments, definitely different landmarks and locations, different layouts lending themselves to different strategies, unique home sites, and even different mission...06-04-2017, 01:38 PM

Games With Gold April Ryse: Son of Rome, The Walking Dead, AC, and DarksidersApril will probably be the very best month that Microsoft’s Games With Gold service has had yet- the games for this month will include four rather good titles, across Xbox 360 and Xbox One both- which means that subscribers will be getting some real bang for their buck here.
Over on the Xbox One, the two headlining titles include Telltale’s The Walking Dead Season 2, and Crytek’s Ryse: Son of Rome. While the latter particularly was panned upon release, it is the kind of game that most people would be all to happy to give a shot themselves if they didn’t have to actually pay for it- which makes it a perfect fit here.
On the Xbox 360 end (with these games, of course, being playable on Xbox One, too), you’ll have Assassin’s Creed Revelations (one of the weaker games in the series, but still not a bad title at all), and Darksiders (an excellent Zelda like game, that I do think is the best of the titles on offer this month).
