  • Fast RMX Review – Gotta Go Fast!
    Bald Bouncer
With the fate of Sony’s Wipeout series up in the air and Nintendo in seemingly no rush to bring Captain Falcon out of retirement, futuristic racing games are an endangered breed. Not content to leave this niche dead, Shin’en Multimedia provides their own take on the genre with Fast RMX, bringing a strong core from the Wii U and updating it for the new hardware.

  • The Legend of Zelda Breath of The Wild Boss Guide
    Bald Bouncer
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is now out- and it is a sumptuous game, unlike truly anything that we have ever seen before. It is also a hard game- harder than any Zelda game in recent memory, harder than most AAA games, in fact. Taking a leaf out of Dark Souls and survival games, Breath of the Wild presents you with multiple scenarios where you can die.

One of these scenarios is in combat- when even regular enemies can take you out, bosses and the dreaded Guardians...

  • Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s Wii U, Switch Versions Compared
    Bald Bouncer
Comparison videos are starting to emerge between The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on the Nintendo Wii U and Switch. IGN and Arekkz Gaming already have their videos up which you can see below.

Though YouTube compression is responsible for hiding the differences in resolution, both versions look remarkably close to each other. There are some differences though and the Switch version does manage to come out on top visually, if only slightly.

    A NeoGAF user also...

  • Zelda: Breath of the Wild Is Currently This Gen’s Highest Rated Game
    Bald Bouncer
There is little doubt that game critics have grown a bit stricter this generation. Higher scores aren’t handed out as frequently and freely as they used to- until today, the highest rated games of this generation were all tied at 93. Critics have, like critics in other media, started to use the whole 10 point scale, leading to a tendency of grade deflation.

This is largely a great thing- it means the games that do manage to, for instance, cross the 90 barrier on Metacritic, are...

Ultra Street Fighter 2 will cost $40, and will release on May 26. Capcom promises HD and Classic Graphics Modes, Arcade, Versus and Training...

Nintendo Switch’s Snazzy Minimalistic UI Revealed

You might have missed it during the official presentation for Nintendo Switch but the user interface is quite something. Thanks to the most recent Treehouse Live stream though, some more glimpses of the Switch’s UI were seen. You can see it above (image courtesy of PowerUpGaming).

From the outset, the Switch seems like a decent leap forward from previous systems, presenting a more minimalist presentation that’s sleeker but easier to understand. Icons for the Nintendo Store,...

  • The Legend of Zelda Breath of The Wild Not Running at 1080p on Nintendo Switch

A report by IGN earlier this weekend indicated that Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild would be running at 1080p resolution on the Nintendo Switch and 720p resolution on the Wii U. The news was apparently confirmed by producer Eiji Aonuma who also apparently noted faster loading times would be a thing.

However, IGN has since published an update which stated that Breath of the Wild was not confirmed at 1080p resolution on Switch.

ARMS Brings Wacky Boxing to Nintendo Switch

The rumoured ARMS, apparently in development by Platinum Games, turned out to be real. It’s another party game for the Nintendo Switch, making use of the Joy-Con controllers to simulate boxing. Except this boxing makes for extendable gloves that can be twisted, used for blocking and much more.

Check out the trailer below to see exactly what we mean. ARMS essentially uses the Joy-Con’s motion controller functionality to simulate the boxing and offers both local and online multiplayer....

  • Nintendo Switch New Video Shows Off How The Console ‘Switches’

The most appealing part of the Nintendo Switch from a hardware perspective is its switching capability- the way it can seamlessly turn from being a home console to a portable to a standalone gaming unit, without having to fiddle with wires or connectors.

We’ve seen the Switching in motion a lot- but we’ve never actually seen it in real time so far. And there’s always some skepticism about whether or not something will actually work in real life as it has been advertised,...

  • Nintendo Switch FCC Filing Reveals More Details About The Hardware

With the Nintendo Switch just three months away from launch, and barely over two weeks from a full reveal, Nintendo have decided to file an FCC filing for the new device (via NeoGAF). This filing reveals some small, but important, details about the upcoming new system from Nintendo.

The most important thing here is that the Switch apparently supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wifi- 2.4GHz is an older standard, that allows connectivity over longer distances, but is relatively slower. It...

  • Pokemon Sun and Moon’s Next Global Event Focuses on Island Scan

A new Global Event has gone live for Pokemon Sun and Moon, involving players all across the world while guaranteeing some great rewards if successfully completed. The Global Event tasks players with catching or defeating one million Pokemon. Sounds easy enough but these Pokemon must be found using the Island Scan feature, which can only be used after 100 points are earned from scanning in-game QR codes.

  • Dragon Quest 11 Officially Confirmed For Nintendo Switch

Dragon Quest 11 was actually the very first game that was ever announced for Nintendo’s upcoming Switch, back when it was still known as the NX. However, since then, due to loads of vague and ambiguous wording in official statements and the like, the exact status of a Switch version for the game was unknown- especially since, when Square Enix showed the game off a few days ago, they focused only on the 3DS and PS4 versions, and not the Switch one.

    However, Nintendo have updated...

The very first Global Mission for Pokemon Sun/Moon is now live, and it tasks the players with the at first seemingly impossible task of catching 100 million Pokemon. You’d probably do a double take at that number and think it is massive, but it’s actually coming down to just 10 Pokemon per player of the game, given that Sun/Moon have apparently already shipped 10 million copies worldwide.

  • The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Release Date Leaked By Retailer - Report

At this point, I think most people have resigned themselves to the fact that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the new open world instalment in Nintendo’s classic action adventure series, won’t be coming as a Switch launch title. Rather, it will be coming at some point later in 2017. But when will that later point be? Are Nintendo going to hold off on Zelda to have a big game for the Holidays?

Pokemon Sun/Moon, the seventh entry in the long running Pokemon series, are almost here- the games represent the biggest leap forward and the biggest breath of fresh air the series has had in a while.
